Bradford County Recent Arrest Windows
The Bradford County Sheriff's Office runs the Bradford County Jail and posts its official data on SmartWEB Jail. The portal opens on a view labeled "BOOKED Last 24 Hours." That view is the best first stop. A new booking shows up there first. One result can carry an intake photo, booking time, current status, charges, bond data, holds, and court identifiers. Those fields record what the jail logged at intake. Details can change after a prosecutor or judge reviews the case. Bradford publishes no weekly blotter. There is no 72-hour sheriff roundup either. SmartWEB fills the gap. Its Begin and End Booking Date fields let you pull a wider range of Bradford County bookings. The result is a database search, not a scheduled publication, and the sheriff lists no fixed refresh interval, weekend schedule, or archive depth.
| Bradford path | Window or scope | Photo and timing |
|---|---|---|
| SmartWEB default | Bookings labeled as the last 24 hours | Image control may appear; lag is not published |
| SmartWEB date search | User-selected booking or release dates | Archive depth is not guaranteed |
| Telegraph arrest list | Weekly, with several counties combined | Observed list is text-based and secondary |
| BCSO Records Unit | Older or missing responsive records | Request the booking record and photograph |
Need same-day detail? The 24 Hour Arrests page walks through it. Wider date-range searching belongs on the Arrest Log. If a new name is missing, don't assume no arrest happened, since intake delays, a release, a transfer, or a portal outage can explain the gap.
Bradford Arrest Intake and Appearance
Booking ties directly into the first court step. After an arrest, the person goes to jail for fingerprinting and a booking photo. Some are released right away. Someone held sees a judge within 24 hours. The BCSO Jail page schedules first appearance daily at about 10:00 a.m., and it cautions that bond details may wait for the judge's written order. Local custody and first-appearance guidance both trace back to that official jail policy.
That schedule explains a common sight. A booking photo appears while bond sits blank or pending. The number can change later. For an urgent custody check, search SmartWEB. Then call the jail at 904-966-6250. The state directory lists 904-966-6178 as an alternate number, so confirm the current information line.
Search Bradford County Jail Arrests
SmartWEB is also the public Bradford County jail roster. Start with a last name. Add a first or middle name only if needed. Date fields separate similar names or recover a booking after it leaves the default view. Before matching a record to one person, compare the booking number, birth details, sex, race, date, agency, and case number.
| Search field or control | Best use |
|---|---|
| Last, first, middle name | Find and narrow roster entries |
| Begin and End Booking Date | Move beyond the same-day view |
| Begin and End Release Date | Look for a recent release |
| Search For, sort, and order | Change the result scope and sequence |
| Load more and Print | Review more entries or preserve context |
Open a matching detail entry. SmartWEB can show an enlarged photo, current status, age at booking, address given, bond, holds, estimated release, and a charge table listing statute, court case, degree, level, and bond. Fields vary from record to record. An estimated release can move, and "In Jail" only describes custody at that moment.
- Open SmartWEB from the BCSO jail page if the direct portal fails.
- Search the least common name and narrow by date.
- Match the booking number and other identifiers.
- Read status, holds, charges, and photo in booking context.
- Record the retrieval date and confirm urgent facts with the jail.
SmartWEB looks live, but BCSO does not promise real-time posting or a set public display period.
Where Bradford Arrest Records Appear
Start any Bradford County arrest search with official sources. The sheriff holds booking and custody material. The clerk holds the later court record. News outlets and commercial indexes can supply leads, but they may copy stale facts, miss a release, mix agencies, or keep an image after the official display changes it.
| Channel | Photo? | Status | Use |
|---|---|---|---|
| BCSO SmartWEB | May display | Official | Current and date-range jail search |
| Bradford Clerk OCRS | No booking gallery | Official court source | Case events and disposition |
| FDC Inmate Search | May display | Official state source | State prison or supervision |
| Bradford County Telegraph | Observed list was text | Local news | Weekly multi-county narrative lead |
| Commercial county indexes | Often | Unofficial | Lead only; verify officially |
The Bradford County Telegraph crime section adds context the roster leaves out. Its April 2026 arrest roundup, “Recent arrests in Bradford, Union and Clay,” listed each name, city, agency, and booking date. Skim past the Union and Clay rows. The page runs as plain text rather than a photo gallery.
Unofficial sites take other angles. Busted Newspaper, RecentlyBooked, Mugshots.zone, and Arrests.org post names and booking photos on their own schedules. None of them holds the official Bradford County arrest record. For that, the sheriff's office remains the source.
Bradford County Arrests by City
City names don't mean separate jail systems. Bradford County Jail handles booking and custody for all three large incorporated places. Agency labels can vary, especially in older records.
- Starke Recent Arrests: BCSO assumed Starke law-enforcement duties after the April 2024 police merger.
- Lawtey Recent Arrests: Lawtey Police says its officers are sworn Bradford County deputy sheriffs and directs custody questions to the county jail.
- Hampton Recent Arrests: no separate current Hampton roster or blotter was found; BCSO dispatch and the jail are the official route.
Older Starke entries may list the former city police department. Today BCSO handles city law enforcement. A Lawtey agency label still doesn't put the booking photo in a separate city jail.
Inside a Bradford Arrest Record
A booking record is born at jail intake. It can link a person, an agency, a charge, custody status, and one or more court cases. Some pieces surface in SmartWEB. Others live only in the booking card, the affidavit, or a requested file, so never expect every field in every entry.
| Field | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Name, DOB, sex, race | Reported identifiers used to distinguish records |
| Booking and MNI numbers | Local keys for the event or person record |
| Booking and release times | Jail intake and recorded release, not incident time |
| Status and holds | Custody state and agency instructions |
| Charge, statute, degree | The intake charge and class, not a conviction |
| Bond or estimated release | Values that may change after court action |
| Court case number | The link to Clerk filings and disposition |
| Booking photograph | An intake identity image, when displayed |
A hold is a custody instruction. An MNI works as a local person identifier and can tie several contacts together. For record requests, the booking number works best, followed by full name and approximate date; age usually means age at booking.
Bradford County Mugshots and Photos
SmartWEB is where a fresh Bradford County booking photo normally lives. The entry offers an “Image / Enlarge Photo” control. Not every booking gets a picture, though, and no display period is promised. Gaps can come from processing delays. A short stay, a transfer, an exemption, or a portal glitch can do it too. When the online entry disappears, ask the Records Unit for the photograph.
Someone sent to state prison shows up in the Florida Department of Corrections Inmate Search. An FDC profile can include a state-custody photo. That image differs from the county mugshot taken at booking. FDC also misses plenty of people arrested in Bradford County and held locally.
Unofficial sites keep copies after SmartWEB updates. Those copies can be stale or mismatched. They carry no authority next to the sheriff, clerk, or arresting agency. Treat them as leads only.
Request Bradford Booking Records
SmartWEB entries do not last forever. Once an entry is gone, head to the BCSO Public Records Requests page. The Records Unit sits at 945-B North Temple Avenue in Starke, FL 32091. It answers 904-966-6380. Walk in, mail a letter, or use email, fax, or the phone. You need not justify the request. You do not always need to write it either. Still, a clear written scope cuts down on errors. The official page also spells out contacts, copying terms, deposits, and likely redactions.
Paper copies cost 15 cents per one-sided page. Double-sided runs 20 cents, and certification adds a dollar. Other media carry actual duplication costs. Big jobs can trigger a special service charge, and a deposit applies when the estimate tops $50. Redactions occur where law allows, and records arrive within a reasonable time rather than on one fixed deadline.
- Give the full name and approximate booking date.
- Add the booking number, MNI, agency, or case number.
- Ask for the exact booking card, release record, or photo needed.
- Choose inspection or copies and ask for a cost estimate.
- Use the case number with the Clerk for disposition.
Florida Law on Bradford Arrest Photos
Florida Chapter 119 reaches records made or received in official business, photographs included. Exemptions survive. BCSO can redact protected pieces and release the rest, so do not assume juvenile details, sealed files, active-investigation facts, victim identifiers, or medical data are public.
Retention is a separate question. Florida's GS2 schedule sets minimum periods for local law-enforcement series. Booking records, release lists, and inmate incarceration records generally last one anniversary year after release; jail docket books stay permanent. That schedule binds the agency's files, not the SmartWEB screen. An office may keep a record longer, and a different case schedule may control.
Bradford County Warrants and Arrest Notices
BCSO runs two separate tools. The Warrant Search page points to the SmartWEB warrant portal. The sheriff cautions that data-entry errors happen. Anyone checking should confirm with BCSO at 904-966-6161 or the local agency. Clerk OCRS adds court history. Yet a docket alone cannot certify that a warrant remains active. The official page urges verification and warns against detaining anyone yourself.
A separate Most Wanted page carries public-safety notices. Entries can list identifying details, charge text, bond notation, and an image. Nothing there stays on a schedule, and contents shift without notice. Never approach, follow, or confront a listed person. Call 911 in an emergency. Tips go to the Detective Division or First Coast Crime Stoppers, and anyone directly affected should talk with counsel, the court, or the agency.
Bradford Arrests Enter Court Records
Booking data and court filings form two timelines. SmartWEB captures the arrest and intake facts; the courts tell the rest. The Bradford OCRS portal and the Clerk supply filings, hearings, and disposition. Public access applies where allowed. A SmartWEB court case number is the best bridge between the two. Search with the fields offered. Then order a certified Clerk copy when you need something authoritative. The OCRS screen itself separates public access from registered and attorney access.
Arraignment is where the plea gets addressed. A judge can set bond earlier, at first appearance. From there the state may amend a charge, dismiss it, file a nolle prosequi, accept a plea, or go to trial. The disposition records the result, and release on its own never means the case was dropped.
Which record tells the whole story?
No single screen covers it all. Use the jail record for custody and the court file for the outcome.
Bradford Records After County Release
Custody status picks the search. Someone just booked or still held in the Bradford County jail belongs in SmartWEB. A recently released person may still surface through release-date filters. A records request to BCSO also works. Florida VINE sends custody-change notices when the person and system are covered. It holds no photos, though, and promises no instant Bradford data.
| Custody state | Best source | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Newly booked or held locally | BCSO SmartWEB and jail | Not the case outcome |
| Released from county custody | Date search, BCSO Records, Clerk | Release does not mean dismissal |
| State prison or FDC supervision | FDC Inmate Search | Not a county booking history |
| Federal custody | BOP Inmate Locator | No public mugshot field |
| ICE detention | ICE Online Detainee Locator | Not a county arrest record |
Federal custody works differently. The Bureau of Prisons locator tracks federal inmates and refreshes daily, per BOP. It offers no public mugshot field, though. ICE requires an exact A-number or exact biographical data for covered detention records. The Marshals Service holds many federal pretrial detainees but posts no national photo roster.
When a web entry rolls off, ask BCSO. The office can say which GS2 series holds the booking, release, or jail record. Then turn to the Clerk for the case itself. The Florida State Archives serves historians, not anyone hunting modern Bradford mugshots by name.
Correcting Bradford Arrest Photo Copies
Fixing a record error is one job. Winning state relief is another. And getting a private site to drop a copy is a third. Get that straight first. For a wrong name, date, charge, or image on an official entry, write BCSO Records with the exact URL, the booking number, the disputed field, and proof. Court results live with the Bradford Clerk. Pull that paperwork before asking any outside publisher to change its copy.
A dismissal seals nothing by itself. FDLE explains who qualifies and runs its Certificate of Eligibility process, while the Bradford Clerk forms page holds the local packet path. Sealing narrows public view. Expungement goes further, subject to narrow exceptions. State relief still may not clear every local or private copy of an arrest record.
Florida Statute 901.43 governs demands sent to commercial booking-photo publishers. It bars any removal fee, requires a written request by registered mail to the publisher's registered agent with identifying details, and sets ten calendar days once its conditions apply. The official statute page shows the no-fee rule plainly. For a live matter, use the statute and a lawyer.
Busted Newspaper and RecentlyBooked both post free request routes for some wrong-person, sealed, expunged, dismissed, or outdated entries. Either site's fix changes nothing at BCSO. Other publishers list no clear Bradford-specific process. So expect no promised result or timing from them.
Bradford Booking Facts That Matter
Local facts explain most conflicts in Bradford arrest records. Booking photos are taken before the first-appearance process finishes, so bond can lag. SmartWEB displays booking photos. Its refresh and archive timing stay unpublished. The BCSO annual report offers a dated activity baseline, not a live count. Treat the pieces as one picture.
The tool names matter too. NCIC Mobile Video Visitation is for communication, and Alert Bradford carries emergency notices, so neither replaces SmartWEB. The Bradford County Telegraph adds a weekly text list covering Bradford, Union, and Clay, so filter by county and verify entries against official sources.
Bradford Arrest Agencies Have Shifted
Agency labels in Bradford can mislead. The Starke Police Department merged into BCSO in April 2024, and the sheriff then took over city law-enforcement duties. Older records may still list Starke Police. Lawtey Police keeps its city identity. Its own site says every officer is also sworn as a Bradford County deputy sheriff. Both paths end at Bradford County Jail.
An agency name is not the record custodian. BCSO's Combined Dispatch Center explicitly serves Starke, Lawtey, Hampton, Brooker, and the county. Check SmartWEB for jail status first, then contact the agency named in the record if you need a separate incident report.
